Description:
Corpus fructiferum circiter 1—1,5 cm altum et circiter 1 cm diametro, primo ovoideum, rotundum, clausum, totum lanato-brunneum, dein superne albescit, fit calix formata, plana, laete obtecta; pilei reliquiis fuscis subalbida sentiente (epipragma) pressa et dilacerata, partim in parietibus interioribus remanentibus, calice patenti-formato, intus calice longitudinaliter striata, nitida, pallide cinerea, fundo griseo; filo-tomentosa, extus rufo-brunnea vel brunneo-brunnea, margine tenui lanato, in fundo brunneo vel griseo, lucida, in siccitate caduca, parvis compressis (2-3 mm) lenticula (peridiolo-sporae) plerumque 4-6 pieces. Pulvis sporae albus est.

Cyathus striatus a fine Julii (magne in secunda medietate Augusti) crescit usque ad Octobris in silvas deciduas et mixtas, in ramis putridis, truncis ligneis, truncis duris, lecticis, in solo humo, prope vias, in densis, raro.
